County to replace bridge east of Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE COUNTY, AB – Bridge construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the intersection of Township Road 8-4 (Brown Road) and Range Road 21-1 (Howe Road).

The construction of the new bridge was funded through the 2023 Capital Budget after the current bridge, which was built in 1960, was deemed to have reached the end of its useful life.

The standard bridge will be replaced by twin culverts. County officials think this will facilitate smoother access for large agricultural equipment, which will increase efficiency.

Township Road 8-4 will not be accessible at Range Road 21-1 for the duration of the construction. Detours will be in place.
