LETHBRIDGE, AB –The first week of 2024 is in the books, and there are some events around Lethbridge to ring in the new year.

Street Fighter 6 tournament – January 5, 2023

The Coaldale Public Library is holding a Street Fighter 6 video game tournament on Friday. There will be a tutorial time from 1:30 to 2:00, followed by the tournament from 2:00 until 4:00. Registration can be done at the library’s front desk.

Lethbridge Hurricanes vs. Tri-City Americans – January 5, 2023

The Lethbridge Hurricanes host Tri-City on Friday night in the midst of a three-game winning streak. The game is Country Night at the ENMAX Centre, and the game starts at 7:00.

U15 T1 Female Minor Hockey Tournament – January 5-7, 2023

The U15 T1 Female Minor Hockey Tournament takes place this weekend at the Cavendish Farms Centre in Lethbridge.The schedule can be found at the centre.

Nikka Yuko Winter Light Festival – November 30 – February 24

Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge is hosting its eighth annual Winter Light Festival. This year, the festival has a ‘Celebration of the Seasons’ theme. The festival will be open Thursdays through Sundays.

Owl Acoustic Lounge performances – January 5-6, 2023

Two nights of performances are happening at the Owl Acoustic Lounge this weekend. Friday night will see a performance by jazz-funk band L’omolette. On Saturday, the venue will see three acts performing:

  • Utils
  • Chrome Harvest
  • Temps
