Officials investigating fire in downtown Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) is investigating a fire on the south side.

At approximately 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2024, crews were called to a commercial building at 712 2 Avenue South.

LFES said a fire that started in the garbage bins spread into the main building.

It took 13 firefighters to contain the blaze. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. A damage estimate it not available at this time.
