LETHBRIDGE, AB – NHL Central Scouting released is midterm rankings for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft on Friday, January 12, 2023.

60 Western Hockey League players were listed on the rankings, and the Lethbridge Hurricanes have five players on the list, tied for the highest amount with the Calgary Hitmen.

Miguel Marques is listed as number 33 on the draft rankings, making him the highest ranked Hurricane on the list. In 38 games with the Hurricanes this season, Marques has 17 goals and 28 assists for a team-leading 45 points. Marques’ rank at 33rd would put him as the first selection of the second round if the rankings were followed.

Brayden Edwards joined his linemate on the rankings, slotting in at the 187th spot. The 19-year-old sits just behind Marques in scoring for the Hurricanes with 41 points in 36 games.

Following Edwards is Trae Wilke at the 190th spot. Wilke has seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points in 37 games for Lethbridge in his second full season with the squad.

Just two slots later, Landen Ward rounds out the Hurricanes skaters on the draft rankings. Ward has played a physical role for the Hurricanes this year with 71 penalty minutes in 37 games, alongside his five points.

Harrison Meneghin made the list of the top 30 goaltenders in the draft, and he sits at the 26th ranked netminder.

Meneghin has been a big reason for the Hurricanes’ success this season, sporting a 17-10-2 record with a 2.41 goals against average (GAA) and a .922 save percentage. He sits fifth in the WHL in GAA, fourth in save percentage, third in minutes played, and tied for third in shutouts.

In addition to the Hurricanes players, Lethbridge local Terik Parascak ranked 14th on the list during his spectacular WHL debut season. Parascak has 60 points in 40 games for the Prince George Cougars this year.

The 2024 NHL Entry Draft takes place from June 28 to 29 at the Las Vegas Sphere.
