Peigan Board of Education announces closures due to weather

BROCKET, AB – Due to the extreme cold conditions in Alberta, the Peigan Board of Education has announced closures for Friday.

The board said on January 12, 2024, that its schools and office are closed. Additionally, all school busses to Piikani, Pincher Creek and Fort Macleod are not operating.

The board said it “wants to ensure that the safety of students and staff is at the forefront of decisions.”

Officials noted that schools, the board office and transportation will operate as normal on January 15.

Many school divisions across southern Alberta have cancelled classes due to the harsh weather conditions.
