Lethbridge man wins $500,000 Extra prize on Lotto Max draw

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Brent Holm’s bank account just got a big boost after a trip to British Columbia.

The Lethbridge resident is the winner of the $500,000 Extra prize from the January 2, 2024 Lotto Max draw. Officials said that Holm purchased and validated the winning ticket at the Esso gas station on SW Marine Drive and 70^th Avenue in Vancouver.

Holm remarked, “I was at the purchase location when I found out I won. I had scanned a few tickets and tried to keep quiet while I was in the store!”

The Lethbridge man said he plans to get new tires for his truck and looks forward to traveling more.

He said, “I have a light mindset. This gives me a bit more room to spend on things!”

In 2023, B.C. lottery players have redeemed over $38 million in winnings from the Extra and more than $212 million from Lotto Max. The Extra is a $1 add-on game available to purchase with Daily Grand, Lotto 6/49, BC 6/49 and Lotto Max at any BCLC lottery retailer or online.
