Wind farm north of Medicine Hat fully operational
SEDALIA, AB – The shift towards renewable energy across the country continues as regulations are in place to have all power come from clean or zero emissions sources by 2035.
A $600 million dollar wind farm located 180 kilometres north of Medicine Hat had its last two turbines come online Monday, January 29, 2024, and has now become fully operational.
On a windy day, just north of Sedalia, you can hear the sound of power being generated at Sharp Hills Wind Farm.
The project, from EPD Renewables, has 67 turbines spread out over 60,000 acres of land.
