LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has laid charges against four people in connection to alleged drug trafficking.

On February 1, 2024, members of the Crime Suppression Team and the Alberta Sheriffs Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit conducted three property searches in the city.

In the first, police say a man was seen engaging in activities consistent with drug trafficking. He was arrested and LPS said it seized approximately 162 grams of fentanyl, seven grams of methamphetamine, and nearly eight grams of cocaine, along with $300 in cash.

The second search occurred in a parking lot on the west side, which resulted in three additional suspects being arrested. The police service said 30 narcotic pills, nearly 29 grams of cocaine, 12 grams of fentanyl, 67 grams of methamphetamine, a buffing agent, and $1,020 cash was confiscated.

Police later searched a local hoten room and reportedly discovered another 616 grams of cocaine, 18 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and approximately $28,000 in cash.

“In total, the estimated street value of all the drugs seized is over $100,000,” reads a media release from the LPS.
