New web service launched to highlight volunteer opportunities in Lethbridge

Feb 8, 2024 | 2:32 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Volunteer Lethbridge is eager to announce the launch of its new web service, just in time for Random Acts of Kindness Week.

The volunteerism and community engagement organization is hoping to simplify the volunteer community’s ability to connect with nonprofits.

The new website allows community members to discover diverse opportunities to volunteer in the community through a personalized online experience. For charitable organizations, the ability to manage profiles, showcase their mission and volunteer requirements is a big step toward attracting the right volunteers to meet their needs.

Executive director for Volunteer Lethbridge, Amanda Jensen explained, “This is more than a tool; it’s a step toward building stronger, more connected communities.”

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS WEEK

One of the initiatives that Volunteer Lethbridge has organized for Random Acts of Kindness Week, from February 12-16, 2024, is the setup of ‘Kindness Tables’ at both Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge. The tables will have free cookies and opportunities to make Valentine’s cards for patients of the Geriatric Unit at Chinook Regional Hospital. The organization will also be distributing Valentine’s chocolates to its nonprofit members.
