BROOKS, AB – The Brooks RCMP has apprehended a man who had allegedly barricaded himself in a home.

Officers were called to a home in the community at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, upon reports that a man with an active warrant entered the building.

The man reportedly refused to exit the residence and RCMP learned he was allegedly in possession of a weapon.

The perimeter of the home was secured and a nearby school was placed under safety plan protocols as a precaution. However, RCMP said there was no risk to those attending the school.

Sean Largary, 45, of Brooks, faces one count each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breach of probation, obstruction, and mischief.

He was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court in Brooks on March 20, 2024.
