LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge College is set to host a major sporting event next weekend.

The post-secondary will host the 2024 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Women’s Volleyball Championships, presented by Alpine Drywall Ltd.

The tournament will see the top eight women’s volleyball programs in the ACAC compete for the conference championship from February 22 to 24, 2024.

Ahead of the tournament, student-athletes will attend a championship awards banquet at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge.

Games will be played at the Val Matteotti Gymnasium, home of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks.

Todd Caughlin, Kodiaks Athletics Director said, “For the first time in college history, we are hosting the ACAC women’s volleyball championships, and that’s very exciting for the Kodiaks and the college.”

“The Kodiaks went on a late season run of winning six matches in a row to earn their spot in the championships, and we hope that momentum carries over into the tournament. This will be some of highest college-level women’s volleyball to ever be played in the Val!”

The winner of the tournament will qualify for the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s National Championship, which is set to be hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic from March 6 to 9.

A schedule and more information on the ACAC championship competition is available online.
