Alberta man acquitted of alleged underaged sex assault in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A man from Calgary is not being convicted of alleged sex-related offences.

Ziyaad Noor, 39, of Calgary, wrapped up a week-long trial in the Lethbridge Court of King’s Bench last week.

He was accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

Noor has been found not guilty of sexual contact and sexual assault on a person under the age of 16.

As well, one charge of sexual counsel was withdrawn.

Noor was among a group of 10 people who were arrested by the Lethbridge Police Service in August 2021 in connection to alleged human trafficking.
