Milk River Emergency Department set for temporary closure
MILK RIVER, AB – Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed another temporary closure of the Milk River Health Centre Emergency Department (ED).
The ED will be closed as of 12 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024. It is set to re-open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5 to provide 24-hour service. Officials said the closure is due to a lack of physician coverage.
Nursing staff will remain on-site during the temporary closure to provide care for long-term care residents. Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency, with EMS calls being re-routed to the Raymond Health Centre or Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.
Patients seeking care can access emergency services at the facilities listed above.
