Tetz wins PBR South Country Co-op Showdown

LETHBRIDGE, AB – 2022 Canadian Champion Nick Tetz (Calgary, AB) went 3-for-3 to win the 2024 Cup Series’ PBR South Country Co-op showdown.

Tetz has won each of the four Cup Series events held in Lethbridge since 2022.

Tetz rode Lord Fear (Vold Rodeo) in Round 1, earning 79 points. In the second round, he rose through the leaderboard after topping Irish Car Bomb (Wilson Rodeo) for 85 points.

He was at his best in the championship round. Tetz elected to go head-to-head with Grand Funk (Kinky Buckers), reaching the eight second mark with ease. He finished the round with an event-best 89 points.

The win earned Tetz 130 national points and he rose from unranked to fourth in the standings for the 2024 Canada Championship. He is now 186.5 points behind first-placed Cody Coverchuk.

Coverchuk finished second in the event with 88.5 national points. The two-time champion led the event after the first two rounds, but fell short in the championship round when he was upended by Langham Kid (Two Bit Bucking Bulls) in a devastating 7.92 seconds.

The 2024 Canada Cup Series will travel next to Brandon, Manitoba on May 25.
