Southern Alberta man charged following animal cruelty complaint

PINCHER CREEK, AB – A resident of southern Alberta faces charges in connection with the alleged cruelty of an animal.

The Pincher Creek RCMP said that on March 2, 2024, it received a complaint which led to an investigation. As a result, police said a 34-year-old man was arrested.

The RCMP said he is charged with the following:

• Willfully kills, maims, wounds or injures an animal
• Willfully causes unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to an animal

Following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, the accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 7 in Pincher Creek.
