WARNER, AB – The Raymond/Magrath RCMP detachment is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision.

Police said on March 7, 2024, at around 7:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the scene on Highway 4, just north of Warner.

The investigation found that a passenger vehicle and semi were going northbound on Highway 4 when the passenger vehicle pulled in front of the semi to avoid multiple deer in their driving lane.

Police said the semi hit the back of the passenger vehicle, causing it to drive into the ditch.

The RCMP noted that both drivers were uninjured, however a 26-year-old woman in the passenger vehicle, a resident of the U.S., was transported to a hospital by Calgary by STARS. Police said she later succumbed to her injuries.

The investigation into the collision continues.
