Programming will include educational seminars, and an appearance from celebrity chef Anna Olson, illustrator Kim Smith and author Julie Van Rosendaal.

The expo will also feature the second ‘Who BILDs it Best?’ competition. The high school building challenge will occur March 14 and 15.

The competition is a partnership between BILD Lethbridge Region, CAREERS and the Southern Alberta Collegiate Institute at Lethbridge College. High school students will be able to showcase their carpentry skills to build a project.

The 12 competitors come from eight different schools from across southern Alberta. On Thursday and Friday, three teams of two will construct a project within 75 minutes, using only the materials provided to them and hand tools. The competition will take place in Hall A from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

A lottery will be a part of the show, in a partnership with HALO, a non-profit helicopter emergency medical service in southern Alberta.

The Southern Alberta Home, Garden and Leisure Show is March 14 to 16.
