Lethbridge Police Service investigating suspicious package

UPDATE #2: 1:30 p.m., – March 18, 2024

The Lethbridge Police Service says reports of a suspicious package were unfounded.

An unknown person had left several boxes at H&R Block over the weekend, indicating the contents were important and that the owners would return to retrieve them.

When the store opened Monday morning, the boxes were still there and staff members noted an image of an explosive device on the outside of one of the boxes.

LPS says the Explosive Disposal Unit examined the boxes, determined that they contained only documents and did not pose any risk.
