Hurricanes sign defenceman Ryder Ellis

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed Ryder Ellis to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

The 2006-born defenceman was undrafted in the WHL Prospects Draft before being listed by the Hurricanes. Ellis spent the 2023-24 season with the Battlefords Stars U18 AAA team of the Saskatchewan Male AAA Hockey League, where he put up 10 points in 43 games. He also served as an alternate captain for the team.

Ellis brings impressive size to the Hurricanes, standing at 6’6 and 190 pounds. He attended the Hurricanes training camp at the start of the 2023-2024 season.

The Hurricanes are in the final stretch of their 2023-24 season, with only two games left on the schedule. They face off gainst the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday, March 22 at the ENMAX Centre.

Lethbridge clinched a playoff berth with a victory over the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday, March 16.
