SASG Coordinator for the Town of Coaldale Mark McIntosh says the Games have a long history of including different types of events like cribbage and photography.

“These competitions serve as a fantastic way to encourage diverse demographics to participate in the Games and make the Games even more inclusive – which is definitely something we want to foster moving forward. The more participants we can include and the more skills we can highlight, the better,” says McIntosh.

This will be the first SASG to feature full programming since the pre-COVID-19 pandemic event in 2019.

Community Experience Manager for the Town of Coaldale Clayton Varjassy says he feels humbled to have the responsibility of bringing the Games back to their full glory.

“As a community, we’re honored to have been chosen to bring the Games back to life after a 4-year long hiatus and want to make sure they go off with a bang”, says Varjassy. “That’s why we’re also organizing a number of other family-friendly activities for people to enjoy while the Games take place. We want the Games to be a party for the entire community!”

The Summer Games take place from July 3-6, 2024.

Registrations will open on May 3 on the SASG website and will close on May 31.
