LETHBRIDGE, AB – It looks like spring will be making its return in the coming days and the City of Lethbridge is opening its yard waste sites to accommodate.

The three locations are set to be operational as of Tuesday, April 2, 2024. They will be open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • North – 2200 Stafford Drive North
  • South – 2665 28 Ave South
  • West – 296 Bridge Drive West

The following materials can be taken to the yard waste sites:

  • Branches (max. 6’ in length, 8″ in diameter; no elm tree prunings)
  • Leaves
  • Clean pumpkins (not painted)
  • Grass
  • Garden trimmings (including weeds)
  • Fallen fruit (removed from tree branches)
  • Elm Tree prunings -disease free* (diseased branches must be taken to the Waste and Recycling Centre)
    • *The City of Lethbridge, along with the Society to Prevent Dutch Elm Disease (STOPDED), encourages residents to pay close attention to the Provincial elm pruning ban which is in place between April 1 to September 30.

The sites are self-service, meaning you must be able to unload the materials yourself.

The City asks that you put the materials in paper bags to avoid having to de-bad the materials from plastic bags.
