LETHBRIDGE, AB – Three people face charges in relation to a reported assault in south Lethbridge.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at around 8 p.m., officers responded to a report that a group of people were fighting in the backyard of a home along the 1000 block of 12 Street South.

Once on scene, police say they found an injured 35-year-old man in the alleyway. The man was taken to hospital by EMS with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

The LPS says individuals inside the house refused to exit and police subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant to enter.

In total, six people were taken into custody without incident. During a search, police say they confiscated a shovel and baseball bat they believe were used in the alleged assault.

The police investigation found that the individuals involved know each other.

Tiffany Joy Hood, a 45-year-old from Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of an offensive weapon.

Jocko Slade Trotter, 36, of Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of an offensive weapon.

Jyi Mickell Trotter, a 44-year-old from Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of an offensive weapon, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

All three accused are scheduled to be in court Thursday, March 28.

Additionally, a 29-year-old woman was charged with matters unrelated to this reported incident. Two other women were released without charges.
