LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Member of Parliament (MP) for Lethbridge has opened nominations for a community award.

Residents of Lethbridge and Lethbridge County can nominate anyone who goes “above and beyond” to make a difference in their region for the 2024 Community Builders Awards.

“Every spring, I put out a call for nominations and receive many heart-warming stories of individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations who freely give of their time, talent, and resources to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” says Lethbridge MP Rachael Thomas.

“These folks don’t expect to be acknowledged or honoured in any way, which makes it extra special to recognize them. They serve selflessly for the sake of others and make a remarkable difference in our community.”

The award will be presented in four different categories: youth leader, adult leader, not-for-profit leader and business leader.

Recipients will be selected by a panel of community members and then honoured at a ceremony in the fall. Past recipients have included retirees, veterans, farmers, foster parents, educators, artists, athletes, social workers and many others who have worked to bring some sunshine into their community.

“If your life has been positively impacted by the investment of someone in our community, please nominate them today,” says Thomas.

The nomination deadline is May 17, 2024. Nomination forms are available at the office of Rachael Thomas in Lethbridge or online at her website.
