Applications open for second intake of Re-Imagine Downtown Activation Grant

LETHBRIDGE, AB – More money is available for local groups looking to host an event or initiative in the downtown area.

The City of Lethbridge says the second intake is underway for the Re-Imagine Downton Activation Grant. The program supports various initiatives, events and program that provide a boost to the downtown core of the city. For 2024, the grant focuses on activating Galt Gardens.

Events that are hosted in the park are eligible to receive funding of up to $15,000. Those held outside of Galt Gardens can qualify for up to $10,000.

The first intake received 20 applications, totaling more than $220,000 in funding requests. Of those, 11 projects were approved, worth nearly $75,000 combined.

This second intake is on from April 15 to May 15, 2024, with recipients named in June. The City says about $45,000 is available in this period.
