Lethbridge College announces valedictorian

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Spring 2024 valedictorian at Lethbridge College has been unveiled.

Annette Kampert will lead the procession at May’s graduation ceremony.

Chair of the college’s School of Business James Reimer says Kampert is an “awesome student” in every sense.

“She has consistently, in all of her courses, scored as one of the top students in the program and will leave as a tremendous ambassador for the college as well as being exemplary in all she does,” says Reimer.

Kampert earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in the Business Administration – Accounting program.

She is also an active volunteer on campus, speaking with new business students at New Student Orientation, being a student rep at Business Program Advisory meetings, and serving on the Business Grad Dinner committee.

Her other volunteer commitments outside of school include the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen, Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale, and at her church.

Kampert was raised on a family farm east of Coaldale and graduated from Calvin Christian School.

She says she chose Lethbridge College because she wanted a two-year program that was close to home. Kampert recalled being nervous on her first day, but quickly realized she had made the right choice.

“Lethbridge is definitely bigger than a small town, but the college has a really big community feeling to it,” she says. “I never really felt out of place at the college. There’s a sense of belonging.”

Her advice to anyone thinking about enrolling in post-secondary education is to embrace the experience.

“This might be a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Try new things and enjoy the experience – your classmates, your instructors – enjoy everything,” says Kampert.

This year’s Spring Convocation ceremonies at Lethbridge College will be held in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024.
