Weather advisories in southern Alberta with possible snow

LETHBRIDGE, AB – We hope you enjoyed the last few days of warm spring weather because things are about to change.

Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for the mountainous regions in southwestern Alberta, including Waterton, Banff, and Jasper National Parks, as well as Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek, and Claresholm

Areas under snowfall warnings can expect between 10 and 20 cm of snow between Monday, April 15, 2024, and Wednesday.

All other parts of southern Alberta are under special weather statements.

A cold front is expected to move through the region Monday afternoon, bringing periods of rain and snowfall. Total precipitation by Wednesday morning is expected to be between five and 10 cm.

In Lethbridge, which is part of the special weather statement, the forecast high for Monday is 21 degrees with wind gusts up to 60 km/hr. There is a 30 per cent chance of showers for Monday night and throughout Tuesday.

The highs for both Tuesday and Wednesday is plus four.

Temperatures are predicted to warm up again this weekend with highs of 10 on Saturday and 15 on Sunday.
