EDMONTON, AB – A handful of southern Alberta volleyball teams hit the court in the provincial capital this weekend.

Volleyball Alberta hosted its 2024 provincial championship tournament for 14U Girls in Edmonton on April 20-21.

The Panthers, out of Lethbridge County, entered the tournament seeded third in Division 1. The team was able to come together following a successful season to secure a silver-medal finish, losing in the final against Calgary’s Kinetic Volleyball, 25-20 and 25-21.

Following the tournament, the Lethbridge team said its players “encountered many worthy opponents all weekend and rose to the occasion.”

The Panthers had previously captured gold at the Premier 1 event in February, as well as at the Premier 2 competition at the beginning of March. The squad captured bronze at the Premier 3 event in late March before traveling to Edmonton for this past weekend’s provincials.
