Homicide investigation underway in Gleichen

Officers looking into what has been deemed a homicide in southern Alberta.

The Gleichen RCMP says it was contacted by EMS at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

Medical responders received a report of an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, a man was declared deceased and “had injuries consistent with being assaulted.”

An autopsy was performed in Calgary the following day. Examiners have determined the death to be a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has since taken over the investigation.
