Hurricanes’ Chadwick named WHL Scholastic Player of the Year

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Hurricanes defenceman Noah Chadwick has been named the Western Hockey League Scholastic Player of the Year.

On Thursday, May 2, 2024, the WHL announced Chadwick as the winner of the Daryl K. Doc Seaman Memorial Award.

Chadwick graduated high school a year early, and began classes at Lethbridge College and online with Athabasca University. At Lethbridge College, Chadwick earned a 98-percent average in English 1150 – Academic Writing this fall.

Chadwick also took Introduction to Statistics at Athabasca University, securing a 93-percent average and collecting a 91- percent grade in Psychology as a Natural Science.

The 19-year-old proved to be as productive on the ice as he was off the ice last season, as he led the team in points by a defenceman with 56 points. After the Hurricanes season ended, Chadwick traveled to Toronto to join the Marlies, making his AHL debut on April 21.

Chadwick is the fourth Hurricane to win the award.
