LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has apprehended two people for allegedly committing an armed robbery.

At approximately 3:40 a.m. on April 12, 2024, officers were called to the 7-Eleven on the 400 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed a man enter the store, place a bag on the counter, and demand cash while pointing a handgun at the employee.

No money was provided and the man took his bag and left.

The cameras allegedly showed a second man in the store, who is said to have been complicit in the robbery.

The LPS said, “Following further investigation, a witness, who observed the robbery and both men inside the store, reported one of the males attempted to steal her bag and punched her in the parking lot, before the pair fled in a vehicle.”

A search warrant was executed at a south side home and police reportedly located a vehicle, a BB gun, and clothing consistent with what was worn during the robbery.

One suspect was arrested on May 1 and the other on May 2.

Kellen Dax Gosselin, 23, of Lethbridge, is charged with robbery, use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, failing to comply with a release order, failing to comply with a probation order, and assault.

Brendan James Maddison, 26, of Lethbridge, is charged with robbery and use of an imitation firearm in the commission of an offence.

Both suspects remain in custody following bail hearings.
