Rural crime down in southern Alberta: RCMP
COALDALE, AB – The RCMP is reporting a decrease in crime in rural areas in the region.
The Southern Alberta District RCMP says, in the first three months of this year, there were 76 fewer persons crime offences, 213 fewer property crimes, and 373 fewer total crimes compared to the same period in 2023.
Other statistical comparisons include:
- Break and enters decreased 18.4%
- Theft of motor vehicles decreased 21.9%
- Theft under $5,000 decreased 17.7%
