Drumheller’s Jurassic Jamboree fails to set world record due to technicality

DRUMHELLER, AB – Although it was likely the largest gathering of T-Rex’s since the actual Cretaceous period, a new world record was not set.

Travel Drumheller made an official attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as dinosaurs.

The event was dubbed the “Jurassic Jamboree,” where people were invited to come to the community with their inflatable dinosaur suits on April 27, 2024

It is estimated that more than 3,000 people took part, far surpassing the current record of 252, which was set in Los Angeles in 2019.

However, Travel Drumheller says, “Due to the high volume of dinosaurs, we could not obtain an exact measurement to officially break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Dinosaurs.””

The group states that it is “incredibly proud” of what it accomplished nonetheless, adding that the support and enthusiasm shown by everyone in attendance was inspiring.

Travel Drumheller plans to make the Jurassic Jamboree an annual event and will attempt to break the world record again.
