Some spray parks in Lethbridge to open this Friday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Families can soon take advantage of spray parks during the hot upcoming days.

The City of Lethbridge says two of their three spray parks will open at noon on Friday, May 17, 2024.

The Legacy spray park on the north side includes a tot area, family zone, and a space for kids aged 5-12.

The Rotary Centennial Fountain is in the southeast corner of Galt Gardens, featuring 97 jets synchronized with music and lights.

Due to recent water conservation measures, however, the following changes will be made to spray park operations:

  • The overwhelming majority of water at both parks is cleaned and recycled.
  • Both parks have reduced hours. Legacy will open between 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Rotary will open between 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. These hours can be adjusted to fit community needs and may be impacted by inclement weather.
  • The water height at Rotary Fountain is being lowered to reduce evaporation.
  • The Gyro spray park, located behind Nicholas Sheran Arena, does not use recycled water and will not open this year.

The spray parks are free of charge and will remain open until the Labour Day long weekend in September, or as summer weather permits.
