Hot air balloon festival takes to the sky above Medicine Hat today

The Rise Up Hot Air Balloon Festival returned to Medicine Hat today.

It runs from May 23 to 26. Balloons will fly at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. over the next three days.

This year, there will be balloon glow nights in Kin Coulee Park on Friday and Saturday.

There will also a community day event held in downtown Medicine Hat on Saturday.

It will include arts and crafts activities for kids at the Medicine Hat Public Library, food trucks in Town Square and a free movie at the Monarch Theatre.
