Lethbridge Police providing information on seatbelt safety at checkstop event
The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is doing their part to help ensure child safety in vehicles.
LPS is holding the Car Seat Check Stop on Wednesday, May 29 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the east parking lot of Toys R Us on 1 Avenue South.
At the event, members of the Traffic Response Unit will be on-site to give parents and guardians of children information on safety, as well as to ensure the seatbelts and car seats are properly installed.
In Alberta, all vehicle occupants are required by law to use a seat belt or child restraint system. The driver is responsible for ensuring passengers under the age of 16 are properly secured.
