LETHBRIDGE, AB – Graduates are set to be celebrated by the University of Lethbridge (U of L) this week. Spring 2024 convocation ceremonies are set for May 30 and 31.

The post-secondary says 1,432 students are expected to cross the stage.

Officials add that the graduates show the diversity of the institution, with learners ranging from 19 to 68-years-old.

Additionally, the first-ever cohort of Bachelor of Science students from the U of L Calgary campus will be celebrated.

The university will recognize the initial graduates of the Indigenous Student Success Certificate program as well. This is a first-year credit program that offers a foundation of core skills, cultural and peer support to set students up in their further undergraduate studies.

This class will also represent the first to graduate with a My Experience Transcript, which is a verified record of activities reflecting the breadth of their experiential learning at the U of L.

“From the time they began their programs, many of them virtually, they have experienced significant shifts, both personally and in the world around them,” says U of L president and vice-chancellor Dr. Digvir Jayas.

“The education our students have received, the people they have met and the conversations they have engaged in have greatly broadened their perspectives and prepared them to do great things in this world as [U of L] alumni.”
