New West Theatre announces 2024 show lineup

LETHBRIDGE, AB – New West Theatre has released their lineup of productions for 2024.

Like 2023, this year will see the company putting forward four productions, beginning in August and ending in February 2025.

The year kicks off with a show called Totally 80s, a celebration of the 80s filled with dance numbers, chart topping hits, and bright fashion. The show runs from August 7 to 24 at Yates Memorial Theatre.

Following Totally 80s, The company’s next show will take place from October 25 to November 2.The theatre will be running an adaptation of the Stephen King horror classic Misery, which tells the story of an author held captive by an obsessive fan forcing him to finish a book. New West Theatre describes the show as “a daring psychological thriller just in time for Halloween.”

A little over a month later, the company will debut its new Christmas show called Rock the Halls. New West calls the revue “a frantic and hilarious holiday celebration that will have you grooving and moving from start to finish.” The show runs from December 11 to 28.

Finally, their slate of shows will conclude following their production of A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline from February 13 to 23, 2025. The show traces Patsy’s rise to fame, as she climbs from a small town to become one of the top voices in country music, and features her greatest hits, including Walkin’ After Midnight, Crazy and I Fall To Pieces.

In addition, New West Theatre will also be running their Hootenanny outdoor show throughout July. The show is free to attend.
