From June 10 to 12, 2024 (4 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day), bridge maintenance will be underway on Whoop-Up Drive. Officials say this will impact westbound lanes on the road. Work will shift to the eastbound lanes on June 13 and 14 (from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. each day).

The City of Lethbridge notes the project involves single-lane closures, therefore two lanes will stay open to traffic. Speed limits will be dropped to 60 kilometres per hour in each work area and motorists are asked to drive with care and follow all posted signage.

MORE SUMMER WORK

Officials add that more work is planned for Whoop-Up Drive this summer. Beginning in early July, bridge rehabilitation will take place on the westbound portion of the bridge.

This will involve single-lane closures, so two lanes will remain open to traffic. This project is estimated to last until the Labour Day weekend, weather permitting.

Guardrail work is also planned for July 22 and 23 for westbound lanes, and July 24 and 25 for eastbound lanes.
