Lethbridge Pride Fest calls out scammer

Jun 10, 2024 | 9:36 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Pride Fest wants to make everyone aware that someone is attempting to scam people by using their name.

The group says in a social media post that “an individual is using June 22’s Pride In The Park event to try and scam people into giving them money in exchange for a booth in the marketplace happening that day.”

The fraudster has reportedly been caught direct messaging people through social media and asking for payments via e-transfer.

Lethbridge Pride Fest is asking everyone to not engage with this person.

According to the post, “Lethbridge Pride Fest will not come into a business asking for you to participate in our marketplace or similar opportunities and/or require payment by cash or e-transfer.”

The only way for people, businesses or other groups to participate in the marketplace, parade or other events is to fill out an application on their website, lethbridgepride.com

More details on the scam are included in the Lethbridge Pride Fest’s Facebook post.

There are a variety of events happening throughout June for Lethbridge Pride Fest. Full details on the festival are on their website.
