Fort Macleod 4-H Beef Club celebrates members with theme song

Jun 11, 2024 | 9:44 AM

FORT MACLEOD, AB – A 4-H club in southern Alberta has its own theme tune.

The Fort Macleod 4-H Beef Club held its annual sale earlier this month, with one of its leaders, Janita Dekok, saying members take on different volunteer opportunities throughout the year, as well as feed and train each of their animals.

The club offers both market beef and market lamb projects and is one of the many 4-H clubs set up across Alberta.

To help promote the work of members so far in 2024, Dekok developed a theme song using an artificial intelligence (AI) generator. The song accompanies a video highlighting the club.

“We always like to do something, kind of a unique video to showcase all the kids’ projects every year and this year we wanted to do something a little different,” says Dekok.

“It took a lot to kind of work out the kinks and get it to sound the way I wanted it to, and the right words and the right placing kind of thing. It was just a fun little project.”

More on the different 4-H programs in the province is available at the 4-H Alberta website.
