LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival is returning in 2024.

The festival features dragon boat races in different age groups, as well as live music, local vendors, food, and other activities at Henderson Lake Park.

The event will kick off on June 21 with the Opening Ceremonies and Dignitary Paddle, setting the stage for a weekend filled with excitement and cultural exploration.

On Saturday, June 22, the dragon boat races will begin, and the day also includes the ATB Kids Zone and the poignant Cancer Survivor C-Cup Challenge. Additionally, Saturday will have the Rose Ceremony to honor those who have been affected by breast cancer.

Finally on Sunday, the race semi-finals and finals will culminate in the Medal Presentations and Closing Ceremonies, where the victors will be celebrated, and The Chevelles will perform for attendees.

2024 looks to build off a highly successful showing in 2023, which had over 20,000 people attend over the course of the festival. National Indigenous Peoples Day will be recognized during the festival.

Paul Henderson, Planning Director for the festival said, “The Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival is a testament to the spirit of our community. It brings people together, celebrates diversity, and fosters a sense of camaraderie and joy that is truly inspiring.”
