LETHBRIDGE, AB – They could not find it on the west side earlier this week, and officials say it has now been spotted in the river valley.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says it received a report of a cougar in the coulees along the southwest side of Whoop-Up Drive.

Alberta Fish and Wildlife are searching for the animal, but have been unsuccessful so far.

“While there is no immediate danger to the public, residents are asked to remain cautious about the cougar’s possible presence in the area,” reads a media release from LPS.

If you see a cougar, please call police at 403-328-4444.
