Competing teams revealed for Western Slam 2024

Four universities from the United States will make their way to Lethbridge in November.

The ENMAX Centre will play host to the Western Slam NCAA tournament from November 28 to 30, 2024. The event is described as a dynamic showcase of basketball talent, where four teams will play in six games over the three days.

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, it was announced that the following teams from four different conferences will be competing in the tournament:

  • Kennesaw State Owls – Conference USA
  • Towson University Tigers – Costal Conference
  • U C Irvine Anteaters – Big West Conference
  • Kent State Golden Flashes – Mid America Conference

Jennifer Norsworthy, Acting General Manager with the ENMAX Centre says, “The City of Lethbridge is thrilled to be hosting the 2024 Western Slam in its inaugural year. Lethbridge and surrounding area are basketball enthusiasts, and to have the opportunity to work with the Big South and On Ice Entertainment in bringing Men’s NCAA Division 1 basketball to our community is an honor.”

Kennesaw and Towson University are set to kick off the tournament with game one on November 28, and the other two teams will play the same day.

“With teams from coast to coast in the United States, this promises to be an exciting three days of NCAA Division One basketball.” said James Holland, the Senior Associate Commissioner of the Big South Conference. “The experience these student-athletes will receive from their time in Lethbridge will be a lifetime memory.”

Full tournament packages are on sale now, and day packages will go on sale at a later day.
