Capitals draft Terik Parascak 17th overall

Prince George Cougars forward Terik Parascak has been drafted by the Washington Capitals.

The Lethbridge native was selected by the Capitals with the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft on Friday, June 28.

Parascak had an incredible rookie season for the Cougars in 2023-24, scoring 42 goals and adding 63 assists for 105 points in 68 games. His 105 points were the most by a CHL rookie since Patrick Kane and Sam Gagner in 2006-07.

Parascak won WHL Rookie of the Month honours three times throughout the season and was a finalist for the WHL’s Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy for Rookie of the Year.
