Hurricanes’ Miguel Marques drafted 87th overall by Nashville Predators

Miguel Marques is heading to the Music City.

The Hurricanes star forward was taken in the third round, with the 87th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday, June 29.

Marques broke out with the Hurricanes in the 2023-24 season, scoring 28 goals and adding 46 assists for 74 points in 67 games. His 74 points was a 54 point increase from the year prior, and he led the Hurricanes in scoring.

He missed the first two games of the Hurricanes’ first round series against Swift Current with an injury, and added one assist over his two postseason games.

Bob McKenzie ranked Marques as the number 67 prospect in the draft in his final rankings released on Tuesday, June 25.
