Six 2023-24 Lethbridge Hurricanes attending NHL development camps

Six members of the 2023-24 Lethbridge Hurricanes are attending National Hockey League development camps.

Joe Arntsen, Miguel Marques, Harrison Meneghin, Noah Chadwick, Brayden Edwards and Landen Ward are all attending camps.

Arntsen is attending the Vancouver Canucks Development Camp after inking an American Hockey League contract with the Abbotsford Canucks following the Hurricanes season. Arntsen finished out his Hurricanes career appearing in 268 regular season games and putting up 106 points.

Marques is taking part in the Nashville Predators camp after being drafted by the team with the 87th overall pick in the 2024 draft on Saturday, June 29. Marques finished the 2023-2024 regular season leading the Hurricanes in scoring with 74 points in 66 games.

Meneghin also had his name called in the 2024 draft, in the seventh round, 206th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He is attending their camp after a season which saw him win the Central Division goaltender of the year with a 2.59 goals against average and a .919 save percentage with three shutouts.

Chadwick is at the development camp for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Chadwick was taken with the Leafs’ sixth round draft pick in 2023, and broke out with 56 points last season for the Hurricanes.

Edwards is heading down to Detroit for camp after finishing second in Hurricanes scoring. He had 31 goals and 39 assists for 70 points on the season, with his 31 goals leading the team.

Ward is attending the Ottawa Senators Development Camp after being featured on the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings. Ward was named the Hurricanes’ rookie of the year, and had 8 points and 120 penalty minutes in his first season.

Besides Arntsen, all of the players will be eligible to return to the Hurricanes for the 2024-25 season.
