LETHBRIDGE, AB – There are plenty of events during this sunny weekend in the Lethbridge area, and Lethbridge News Now has you covered with the details.

Food Truck Fridays – Every Friday

Get your favourite Food Truck meals just outside Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in the parking area every Friday except June 21 and July 19. There are tons of trucks for food both sweet and savoury from noon until 8:00 p.m. Information on the trucks can be found here.

Multi-Genre Showdown Concert – July 5, 2024

As part of the Southern Alberta Summer Games, Stafford Lake Resort will play host to a showdown concert on Friday night. The concert runs from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and entry will be free to the public for this concert beginning at 4 p.m. The lineup includes:

Jolene Draper & the Inquisitive Few – Funk & Dancy Rock Originals & Covers – 5 p.m.

Taylor Ackerman’s Global Acid Reset – Wicked Blues – 6 p.m.

Javier Escuela – Hip-Hop/Rap – 7 p.m.

21st Avenue – Alternative Rock – 8 p.m.

Good Time Charlie – Classic Rock – 9 p.m.

There will be food trucks on site, as well as food and ice cream available at the concession.

Lethbridge Bulls home games – July 5, 7, 2024

The Lethbridge Bulls have two home games this weekend. The first comes on Friday night when they host the Brooks Bombers. The Bulls are coming off a 9-6 win over Brooks on Thursday night. They will then follow that up with a game in Brooks on Saturday before returning to Lethbridge on Sunday to face the Okotoks Dawgs. Tickets can be purchased here.

Southern Alberta Summer Games – July 5-7, 2024

The 2024 Southern Alberta Summer Games are underway in Coaldale. The events began on Wednesday, and will run until Sunday. The games feature competitions spanning from baseball to cribbage and Esports. Information on the events and schedules can be found on the Southern Alberta Summer Games website.

Lethbridge Farmers Market – Saturdays

The weekly market will run at the Lethbridge & District Agri-Food Hub & Trade Centre every Saturday until October 12. 2024 marks the first year the market will be at its new venue.

Latin Fest 2024 – July 6, 2024

The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association is holding their Latin Fest celebration on Saturday. The organization describes the event as a day of Latin flavors, featuring cultural food vendors and food trucks, live music, performers, children’s activities, beer gardens and much more. The event runs at Galt Gardens from noon until 9:00 p.m. and is free to attend.

3D Archery Shoot – July 6, 2024

The second annual Outdoor 3D Archery Shoot will be held in the coulees near Picture Butte from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday. Targets will be set up, and there will be prizes for the winners and runners up. Lunch is also available at the event. Registration can be done here.

Articulations Talk and Tour – July 6, 2024

Join exhibiting artists Sung Tieu, Alex Turgeon, and Amanda Chwelos at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery (SAAG) for an in-person panel discussion about their practices and new exhibitions. The event runs from 2:00 p.m. until 3.

Rising Stars and Final Bows – July 7, 2024

The final concert of Centric MusicFest’s 10th Anniversary features Jeran Lynnes, marimbist and the Primo Music Association scholarship winner of the Lethbridge and District Music and Speech Arts Festival: Matriakii performing at CASA. It also includes a composition by local composer Sonny-Ray Day Rider for viola and piano; and the Schumann Piano Quintet in E-flat major. The show starts at 2:00 p.m.

Hootenanny! Scout and the Rarest Badge Ever – July 2-26, 2024

New West Theatre’s Hootenanny! returns for 2024 with a show at Galt Gardens throughout July. The show s described as an original, free outdoor play for all ages, and runs Tuesdays to Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
