LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have acquired forward Trae Johnson from the Kelowna Rockets.

In return, the Hurricanes sent a sixth-round pick in the 2026 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft to Kelowna.

Johnson joins the Hurricanes after a season with the Rockets where he scored three goals and added 10 assists in 57 games, along with 77 penalty minutes.

The 6’0, 176 pound forward was originally drafted by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the second round of the 2020 draft.

Hurricanes General Manager Peter Anholt said, “He’s a very high character individual and has a high compete level. We think he will add some depth to our middle six.”

The move bolsters Lethbridge’s roster after the team released Carter Dereniwsky, Braeden Wynne and Elias Knoester last week.
