Lethbridge-born racquetball athlete gets spot on National Team

On July 17, Racquetball Canada announced their official roster for their national teams for the 2024-2025 season. On the men’s elite team is Lethbridge-born Coby Iwaasa.

The 28-year-old is the current Canadian Champion of Men’s Doubles, a title he won in 2023 with his partner at the time, Kurtis Cullen.

Iwaasa had a an impressive junior career, winning a total of nine medals from his five World Junior Championships.

He was also a member of the team that won bronze at the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games. Starting July 19, the team will begin training camps in Saskatoon for two days. This includes the Men’s and Women’s Elite Teams, as well as their development teams.
