Wrestling fans in the Lethbridge area will see a local favourite return in August.

On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, the Lethbridge & District Exhibition (LDE) announced that Pure Power Wrestling (PPW) will be bringing its Hot Summer Night event to Whoop-Up Days 2024.

This year marks the second consecutive year PPW has held an event at the summer festival. Hot Summer Night will be a star-studded eight-man tag team elimination match as The Stud Stable, featuring “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada, “The God of Thunder” Andy Anderson, and The Brand , clash with Team Copeland, featuring Travis “The Heat” Copeland, and three partners of his choosing.

Paul Kingsmith, Director of Community Development at LDE says, “Pro wrestling at Lethbridge & District Exhibition is a tradition that dates back decades and we’re so excited that Pure Power Wrestling has chosen to write a new chapter in this legacy at Whoop-Up Days. PPW puts on a high-energy, family-friendly, knock-‘em-down, drag-‘em-out show that isn’t to be missed. And with all PPW tickets including admission to Whoop-Up Days, it’s a value that can’t be beaten.”

In addition to Hot Summer Night, Whoop-Up Days will also see the PPW Western Canadian Championship held during the festival, with Tony Machete challenging “Sexy Cowboy” Bryn Watts.

Hot Summer Night will take place on Saturday, August 24, and tickets are now on sale with advance pricing. Admission to the event is $20 in advance and $30 at the door, with children aged 6-15 costing $15, and kids under six getting in free. Ticket purchases also include entry into Whoop-Up Days.

Tickets to the PPW events can be purchased at LDE’s website.
